A team representing Canada at the U50 World Cup in South Africa opened the tournament with a 5 wicket win over Sri Lanka. David Mohammed took 5/24 as Sri Lanka made 184/9 from 45 overs. Canada won by 5 wickets with 9 overs to spare, led by 64* from Graham Castahneiro and 52 from Rafiullah Syed.
