HARI KRISHNAN RAGHURAMAN

HOMETOWN: Chennai, India (residing in Halifax)
HOW HE GOT INVOLVED IN SPORTS: Cricket has been Raghuraman’s passion since early childhood. He started playing serious cricket at the age of 11 and represented the city of Chennai at age of 12 in under-15s and the state at the age of 16 in under-19s.
SPORT ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Raghuraman is currently playing for the Nova Scotia cricket team and had been invited to play for Canada’s national cricket A-team last year. Received most valuable player award in last year’s inter-provincial tournament, best batsmen in Halifax league tournament and was awarded three man of the match awards last year. COACH COMMENT: “Hari is an exceptionally talented cricketer. He is very correct technically but also possesses power and aggression when batting. He is a level-headed individual with a good sense of humour and great team spirit, all of this makes him an asset for any team.”

ATHLETE COMMENT: “All I wanted to do from childhood is to play cricket. I enjoy every aspect of the game irrespective of what I do in the field. I also gave equal importance to my education which brought me here to Halifax. I’m very proud and happy to be a part of the Nova Scotia Cricket Association and look forward to represent the national team some day.”
