The CIMA/Toronto Mayor’s XI has begun the 2011 UK tour with three wins in three games. Old Wimbledonians CC were beaten by 53 runs last Sunday (July 31). There was a double triumph on Tuesday as Purley CC fell to the tourists by 28 runs and Beddinton CC tumbled to a 39 run defeat.
Yug Rao (85 not out) and Taha Shaikh (70) lead the way in the win against Old Wimbledonians. The CIMA/Toronto Mayor’s side notching ten runs a over to reach 200 runs in 20 overs for the loss of just two wickets. Don Redeling posted 70 runs for Old Wimbledonians.

An unbeaten 40 from Michael Walton, batting at number seven, proved crucial in the win against Purley, which was a T30 game, rather than T20. The tourists making 160 for seven wickets, then bowling out Purley for 132. Talha Shaikh took 3 wickets for 16 runs in four overs, if my reading of the scorecard is correct. R. Ross top-scored with.30 for Purley. Two Purley players notched 26 runs, S.Classineon and A. Windley.

Talha Shaikh hit his second half-century of the tour with 52 of the tourists 152 for seven in the 39 run win over Beddington. Michael Walton seems to be credited with 3 wickets for 25 runs in his four overs. (The detail of who dismissed whom being a missing item on the information I have seen.) .Beddington’s leading scorers, A. Down (33) and J. Gillan (28) were both run out.
