RBC Invitational cricket tournament set for Scarborough

RBC Invitational Tournament and Cricket Festival makes its first appearance in Scarborough.
This Saturday, June 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. cricket players, fans and curious members of the public to watch some top young cricket players compete for the RBC Invitational Trophy.
This competition will bring together teams of under-15 cricketers from Mississauga, Brampton, North Scarborough, East Scarborough, Ajax and Toronto.

Matches will take place at L’Amoreaux Park Cricket Grounds (McNicoll Avenue Kennedy Road), with the opening remarks and ceremonial ‘first bat’ by Jennifer Tory, tournament chair and RBC – regional president.

Those attending will also have a chance to join in a host of free activities, including a chance to “try cricket” with some of Canada’s top junior national players.

Hosted by RBC in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Sharing Sports Campaign, this cricket festival is being launched to help promote, showcase and celebrate the importance of cricket as a sport that engages youth, promotes cross-cultural relationships and connects diverse communities.
