Toronto set to have Canada’s first-ever green cricket field designed to have its own harvesting and rainwater irrigation system. Surrounded by ecological amenities in the lush green Don Valley area, the Go Green Cricket and Sports Field is one of its kinds in Canada that is based on an innovative concept of celebrating rainwater.
The $1.5 million community project is planned to convert the nearby Valley Park Middle School’s playground into a scenic butterfly pattern having an outdoor amphitheatre, trails to walk and enjoy, food garden, a picnic area, bio-swale and wetland as well as a multi-sports field for games like cricket, soccer, baseball and basketball.
