Ontario may have won the 2012 Canada Cup Under-18 Championship, but the individual player awards went to two Alberta players. Sudeepta Aurka (Alberta) was awarded the Best Batsman award and fellow Albertan Ankit Karval took the award for best bowler.
In the Final, Ontario scored 125 all out, then bowled out Alberta for 114 to win by 14 runs. British Columbia won the playoff for third place by six wickets after bowling out the Combined Provinces for 177 in 46.2 overs.
The BCMCL has posted a note of thanks to all who came out and supported the teams in this tournament, as well as to the coaches and managers who “devoted their precious time for this tournament”, to Cricket Canada and to Cricket BC. The volunteers and officials from the league and clubs in BC who ensured the tournament ticked along, recorded the scores, and provided updates on progress deserve a special vote of thanks, as do the players.
