Cricket Canada have provided us with some quotes from coach Gus Logie:-
The experience gained during our Trinidad trip will no doubt put us in good stead as we continue our preparations for Dubai, Our players got a great opportunity to measure themselves against quality and big named players and even though the outcome in the games were on the negative side we take the few positive gains with us..
Our objectives of batting our full quota of overs in the limited games was a good starting point, getting 200plus in our last game on tour was also commendable as we showed determination and character in the face of some challenging times and at no time did the players felt like quitting. Scoring 142 for 4 in our first T20 under lights represented a record score in that format in the Caribbean also.
However we are conscious of the amount of work that needs to be done with our batting – building longer partnerships, not losing wicket in groups, better assessment of the game situations are areas we will be working hard on. Our out cricket did not do us justice and maybe coming from indoor training did not help, but the basics still needed to be applied.
Our bowling found penetration difficult against quality players despite their best efforts, but in the end Jeremy Gordon young Nikhil Dutta and Damadar Daesrat found some success.
Our thanks to the Cricket Canada and the Trinidad & Tobago cricket Board for the opportunity to play some cricket during our winter as we prepare for a busy and important 2013.
