The North Bay Multicultural Cricket Club is looking for a permanent home.
The club played a friendly against its compatriots based out of Timmins on Canada Day at Amelia Park to show off the game to members of the North Bay community.
Howbasir Ramsoondaar is the club’s coach and a driving force behind the birth of cricket in the city, also helped establish the sport’s presence in Timmins.
“I brought cricket to North Bay because there was an opportunity,” said the 62-year-old who hails from Trinidad and Tobago. “ I saw soccer, but no cricket, so I approached the Multicultural Centre.”
