Toronto cricket world cup makes debut (South Asian Focus)

The GTA’s own action-packed and fun-filled cricket world cup made its debut at the fields of L’Amoreaux Park in Scarborough.
In the finals, Scarborough Muslim Association team defeated Asian Television Network (ATN) by 4 wickets and took home the first Scarborough World Cup of Cricket trophy.
Bating first, ATN scored 62 for 6 in their allotted 15 overs while SMA reached the target of 63 in less than 10 overs to beat ATN by 4 wickets.
The ultimate winner however was The Scarborough Hospital Foundation, which raised $50,000 for its Cancer Care Program through the two-day community-wide family event.
