Some evidence of play in the Toronto Area on Sunday

The Toronto and District Elite and Premier Division matches due to be played at Maple Leaf CC had to be called off on Sunday (Sept 22) but there is evidence of some playoff action having taken place in the Greater Toronto Area on Sunday.
Although scores are deemed incomplete late on Sunday, it seems Punjab CC Canada beat Challengers XI by 30 runs on Brampton’s Batsman Park south pitch in the Elite Division playoffs of the Brampton-Etobicoke & District League. Punjab CC was all out for 143 in a game reduced to 45 overs a side due to the wet conditions. Challengers were then bowled out for 113.
No news had been posted about the Golden Tiger-India Sports Elite playoff due on the north pitch at Batsman Park by 11pm on Sunday evening. But teams are allowed a few days in which to input scoring details.
There was play at Teramoto Park (Brampton) where Springdale B hit 192 for six from 40 overs, only to see Toronto Super Kings thump a winning 193 for four wickets from 29.2 overs. An opening stand of 78 set the Super Kings on the victory trail. Two more wickets fell in adding just five runs, but opening bat Harry Shrivs 65 helped carry the score to 130 for four and an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 63 ensured victory. (EN)

In other leagues, Saturday’s T20 Division 1 playoffs in the Brampton Cricket League were washed out. The Hamilton and District Premier Division Final was scheduled for the Niagara Cricket Centre on Sunday (Sept 22) between Niagara CC and Halton Warriors. (EN)
