Canada loses to UAE in opener

Canada lost to UAE by 80 runs in their opening match of the World Cup qualifier in New Zealand. UAE made 286/6 after winning the toss, led by 91 from Amjad Ali and 81 from Khurram Khan. Khurram Chohan took three wickets. In reply Canada had a disastrous start, losing Kumar, Gunasekera and Limbada in the fiest 5 overs whle only putting 9 runs on the board. Captain Jimmy Hansra and Raza-ur-Rehman put on 89 but canada fell well behind the required run-rate. Hansra completed an unbeaten century but Canada made no serious attempt to chase, finishing 80 runs behind with four wickets in hand.
