Eastern Division and Toronto Boys High Schools Final due today

The Eastern Division Boys High School playoff in the CIMA Schools Cricket Championship between Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute (CI) and Woburn Collegiate CI is due to be played at Sunnybrook Park today (Friday May 16). The winning team will then meet Western Division winners North Albion CI in the game to decide the 2014 Toronto Boys High School CIBC Trophy.

The Toronto Boys Middle School CIBC Trophy game is also scheduled to be played at Sunnybrook Park today. There were no results or scores for Thursday’s scheduled Eastern Division Middle Schools games on the CIMA Canada Mayors Trophy Cricket when this report was compiled (around 2am on Friday). Possibly adverse weather – rain – may have impacted Thursday’s play. There was persistent, significant amounts of rain outside my house in the western part of the city early on Friday morning which might impact the prospects of play for Friday. But who knows?

On the broader front, the schedules (“fixtures” on the CIMA Mayors Cricket section of the CIMA Canada website) are taking shape for the Boys High Schools competitions in Brampton, Markham and Mississauga. The Mississauga Boys High Schools championship is scheduled for next Tuesday (May 20), following Monday’s Victoria Day public holiday. The Markham championship fixtures are emerging for next Thursday (May 22) and the Brampton Boys High Schools competition is currently scheduled for May 27.

The Brampton Boys Middle Schools CIBC Trophy game is currently integrated into the Brampton Boys High school schedule for May 27.
