Brampton CIBC Trophy on CIMA Schools Cricket Schedule today

The CIMA Mayor’s School Cricket Tournament heads to Brampton today (Tuesday May 27) where ten Boys High School teams from Brampton are due to compete to become the city’s 2014 CIBC Trophy winners. Two Middle Schools will also compete to become the inaugrual Brampton Middle School champion, which also brings a CIBC Trophy.
The Brampton City winners will advance to this coming Saturday’s (May 31) Greater Toronto Area playoffs at Brampton’s Dixie-Sandalwood Park (Brampton Soccer City) grounds.

The ten Brampton Boys High School teams are divided into three groups. Four school teams will complete in one group using the two cricket grounds in Batsman Park. The other six school teams are divided into two groups of three teams playing at the two grounds in Dixie-Sandalwood Park. There will then be playoffs to determine the schools to meet in the Brampton Boys High Schools City Final for the CIBC Trophy.

The four teams competing at Batsman Park are Louise Arbour Secondary School (S.S.), North Park S.S., Central Peel S.S. and Turner Fenton S.S.. One group at Dixie-Sandalwood Park comprises David Suzuki S.S., Castlebrooke S.S. and Fletcher’s Meadow S.S. while the other group of three features Sandalwood Heights S.S., Harold M. Brathwaite and Heart Lake S.S..

The Boys Middle School competition is between Beryl Ford Public School and Cheyne Middle School. This game is due to be played at 10.00 am at Dixie-Sandalwood Park (Brampton Soccer Centre).
