FC Clarke Street United tour sees success in Montreal

The touring First Citizens Clarke Street United team from Trinidad and Tobago won both T20 games last Saturday (August 21st) in Montreal. The visitors beat a Quebec Cricket Federation (QCF) side by 7 wickets and followed with a nine wicket success against a Caribbean Combined XI, drawn from the Montreal-based QCF. Both games were played at Jarry Park.

Quebec Cricket Federation 107 for 5 wkts (20 overs)
FC Clarke Street United 108 for 3 wkts (17.4 overs)

The QCF made 107 for 5 wickets in 20 overs, headed by an undefeated 40 from J. Goolab. S. Ramkisson chipped in with 20 runs. A. Mahobir took 2 wickets for 14 runs, and M. Persad 2 for 12 runs, each from four overs.

Tishan Maraj made 23 at the top of the order, before unbeaten knocks of 26 from Sean Siloch and 25 by Dion Bennett carried the visitors to victory in the 18th over. Kalpesh bowled an economical spell of 4 overs for the QCF taking 1 wicket for 11 runs.

Caribbean Combined 99 all out
FC Clarke Street United 100 for 1 wkt (10 overs)

J. Goolab struck two sixes and three fours in a personal tally of 31 runs as the Caribbean Combined XI was bowled out for 99. S. Gooljar took 3 wickets for 18 runs and M. Moonisar 2 for 15.

Opener Tishan Maharaj fell for 40, but Moonesar with 37 not out and S. Silach with 21 saw the visitors to another win.
