Limers Lord’s Devon Smith in South Africa with Windies

Devon Smith, who helped Limers Lords to the top of one Elite Division conference in the 2014 Toronto and District Cricket Association, is now in South Africa after being selected for the West Indies touring squad as injury replacement for Chris Gayle.

An innings of 145 by Devon Smith for the Windward Islands Volcanoes against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes will have helped his cause. The left-handed Smith hit this century during the third round of matches in the new Professional Cricket League Regional Four Day Tournament playing in his native Grenada. His 145 came from w Windwards score of 308 for five declared.
Smith has represented the West Indies in 33 tests since making his debut during 2003 against Australia in Guyana. His Test career includes one century and five half-centuries.
Limers Lords strumbled in the semi-finals of the TDCA Elite Division playoffs. Brampton Masters Tranzac captured the Elite Division championship with a win in the final against Centurions. Devon Smith presented one of this West Indies ODI shirts to the Limer Lords club as a token of thanks for the opportunity to have played cricket in the Greater Toronto Area this summer.
