The final day of the World Cricket League Division 2 tournament had games to decide final placings. With promotion and relegation settled these games have little significance, and Canada seemed to play that way when they batted first against Uganda. The upper order failed and they were 25/3 after 6 overs. Hansra (31) and Limbada (22) took the score to 68, but then five wickets fell for the addition of 23 runs. A ninth wicket partnership of 48 between Hamza Tariq (32) and Dutta (19) gave the innings a degree of respectability but canada were bowled out for 140. Uganada got off to a quick start in reply, the openers putting on 46 before Hansra broke the partnership. Dhaliwal took the second wicket – 54/2 from 8.3 overs. That was Canada’s last success as Uganda cruised to an 8 wicket win with 25 overs remaining. A disappointing end to a disappointing tournament, and one that leaves Cricket Canada with some serious problems going forward.
