Oakville Cricket Academy (Ontario) beat Foundation School to place seventh in the 29th Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket tournament that concluded recently in Barbados. Foundation School reached 211/8 from 40 overs in the playoff game for seventh place but Oakville responded with 212/3 from 37.3 overs. Neil Johnson scored 112 and Bryan Brown 67* lead Oakville’s path to victory. Mario Hinds 61 and Shakeem Blades 50* topped the Foundation School batting. Oakville’s Wishal Ram took 5/37.

St Leonards Boys 134 (35.1 overs) beat Hamilton Lashley Foundation 117 (40 overs) by 17 runs in the all-Barbadian tournament final. The semi-finals had produced wins for these two Barbadian schools against opponents from Trinidad & Tobago. St Leonards beat Queen’s Park CC and Hamilton Lashley Foundation beat Fatima College.
