“Mishuneet Sagoo didn’t play cricket in school until she moved to Toronto from India three years ago and now she’s a star.
The 17-year-old West Humber Collegiate Institute student was named the city’s best female batsman at the Mayor’s School Cricket Recognition Event for her stellar 2015 season.
Sagoo loves that cricket — the fastest growing sport in the city — is as open to both boys and girls here.
“Back home, everyone is crazy about cricket,” Sagoo said Thursday at the award ceremony at Metro Hall.
“I love that it is getting more popular here and I’m learning a professional sport.”
