National team player Nitish Kumar is again playing cricket in England this summer, representing Loughborough Marylebone Cricket Club University – one of a number of centres of cricket excellence based around university cricket. His team started off with three games against first-class counties, in which he had mixed success- 30 and three wickets against Surrey, a duck and 0/75 against Kent, and 59 plus a wicket against Leicestershire. In inter-university competition he made 16 in a 50 over match against Durham, but then 72 in the 2-day match against the same opposition. He top scored with 148 against Oxford MCCU, and made 34 against Cardiff MCCU May 2nd. The university season continues until late June.
