Over 50s lose to Wales

Canada Over-50s managed to reach 109 all out after 43.1 overs (of a possible 45) against Wales on Sunday (Dec 2, 2018). Rohan Jayasekera scored 24 while captain Talal Iqbal topped the scoring with 34. John Ketchington lead the Welsh bowling with 3 for 16 from 9 overs. A stand of 51 for the second wicket between Neil Williams (34) and Steve Maddock (31*) set Wales on course for victory, which came at 4 down for 112 after 34.5 overs.

The standings after the round-robin see Australia at the top (Won 6, Lost 0, No Result 1), Pakistan second (W 6, L 0, NR 1), England third (w 4, L 2, NR 1) and New Zealand fourth (W 3, L 3, NR 1) ahead of Sri Lanka (also W 3, L 3, NR 1). NZ has more bonus points than SL. Wales placed sixth (W 2, L 4, NR 1) with South Africa (W 0, L 6, NR 1) ahead of Canada (W 0, L 6, NR 1) on bonus points.

Monday (Dec 3) has the Championship Semi-finals and the Plate semi-finals. Championship semis are Australia v New Zealand and Pakistan v England. Plate semis are Sri Lanka v Canada and Wales v South Africa.

The Plate final is scheduled for Tuesday with the Championship Final due on Wednesday.
