GTA schools compete in women’s cricket

Young female cricketers across Peel District School Board are picking up their bat determined to showcase their skills at the ICC U19 Girls World Cup in 2025. Rohit Malhotra, teacher at Stephen Lewis Secondary School and one of the founding members of the inaugural GTA U19 Women’s Cricket Association, said he noticed great support and love of cricket in his Peel community. “Cricket is often a way for young players to connect with their families, values and identities,” noted Malhotra.
