Canada U19 player allegedly assaulted at Winnipeg match

A Winnipeg cricket tournament turned violent on Saturday during what was supposed to be a friendly match at Assiniboine Park. Abdul Haseeb, a Winnipegger who plays for the national under-19 team, said he was hit twice by another cricket player after a dispute on the field.
Winnipeg police confirmed they were called to the cricket match around 4 p.m. on Saturday, and a man was arrested for assault. The fight broke out after Haseeb, 18, refused to play for one of the teams in the annual tournament, he said.
