Canadian College Cricket, on their Facebook page provided details of their first three way women’s tournament featuring Ryerson, Laurier, and University of Toronto, Scarborough (UTSC). The tournament was won by UTSC. To quote
“As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, this tournament was a symbol of women empowerment not only socially, but also politically, culturally, and economically. This tournament was an encouragement for every woman in the world that anything is possible when you put your mind and heart to it. And every player on the team was an inspiring example of that.

Hassan Mirza, President of Canadian College Cricket, emphasized the importance of this tournament and how tournaments like this help women break the cultural barrier.
