Mississauga Youth Cricket Festival

Akhil Kumar top-scored with 73

One semi-final in the Mississauga Youth Cricket Festival Under-18 competition is due to be played today (Saturday, August 4, 2018) with a 12.30pm start and the second semi-final is scheduled for Sunday, August 5, 2018 with a 12.30pm start. One Trinidad and Tobago source indicates Sunday’s game will be between South Young Warriors U18 and Cricket Ontario U18s, which would suggest Saturday’s semi-final is between Ontario Cricket Academy U18s and Atlantic Region Cricket Board U18s.

The Under-18 final is scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2018 with a 10am start.

On Thursday at Malton, the Atlantic Region U18s innings began well, reaching 35 for no wicket after 5 overs, but folded up after the meal break. Atlantic Region stumbled to 60 all out, losing by 163 runs to Cricket Ontario High Performance XI by 163 runs.

It was hot on Friday at Mavis – but is due to be hotter and more humid today (Saturday, August 4) – where Ontario Cricket Academy fired 225 for 5 from 30 overs against Atlantic Region U18s. Opening bat Abraham Khokhar made 43, number 3 Akhil Kumar top-scored with 73 and Rahman Pathan was 59* when the innings ended. Details of Atlantic Region’s innings are not currently known.
