Cricket Canada are to be congratulated on the CBC streaming coverage of the T20 CrickFest matches this weekend from King City. It is firstly a major step to have any coverage at all on the national broadcast network, but this was also a professional production, with multiple camera angles, good commentary and high quality graphics. It is hoped that the numbers watching may encourage CBC to do the same for future events. It would be good, however, to support this effort with improved coverage on social media – there are a couple of articles on the Cricket Canada web site but scorecards, team lists and statistics are hard to find. Apparently the West Indies B team won the T20 competition, based on Facebook posts.

The Womens’ National T20 was also taking place at King City last weekend, and was occasionally mentioned in TV coverage. We understand that Ontario Red defeated Ontario Green in the final, although to date no scorecards or details of the matches appear to be available – we hope to provide details later.
