Canada took on Belize as the ICC Americas T20 qualifying tournament got under way.
Belieze batted first and Romesh Eranga made a great debut for Canada, taking two wickets in his first over. He added a third in his second over, and then Nitish Kumar took three wickets in his first over to reduce Belize to 21/6. Two wickets to Heyliger in the 10th over made it 5 wickets in 11 balls – 25/8. A wicket each for Dutta and Saad bin Zafar and the innings was over- all out 42. Canada needed just 18 balls to record the win, with Wijeratne and Dhaliwal each making 20.

Earlier USA had demolished Panama, bowling them out for 65 and knocking off the runs inside 6 overs.
