Update: Canada lose to Sri Lanka by 16 runs

The start of play in Canada Over50’s game against Sri Lanka was delayed by one hour due to rain. Sri Lanka, batting first, made 152 for 8 wickets from 45 overs. Five Canadian bowlers each took a wicket, including two economical efforts by Gibson (1 for 14 from 9 overs) and Ahmad (1 for 19 from 9 overs). Canada stumbled to 27 for 5 before Kirmani and Iqbal combined in a sixth wicket stand of 40 before Iqbal fell for 15. There was a stoppage during Canada’s innings after which Kirmani was out for 46 and de Mel scored 28 as Canada battled to 136 all out after 44.1 overs.
