David Suzuki SS wins ROPSSAA Girls Varsity Indoor Cricket

David Suzuki Secondary School (SS) scored 54 runs for the loss of 2 wickets on Wednesday (May 15, 2019) then bowled out Heart Lake for 35 to win the ROPSSAA (Region of Peel Secondary Schools Athletic Association) Girls Varsity Indoor Cricket championship. The sixth and last Heart Lake wicket fell after 5.5 of a possible 6 overs, so David Suzuki won by 19 runs.
The second Senior Boys semi-final is due to be played today (Thursday, May 16, 2019) between Castlebrooke and Stephen Lewis. The game is scheduled for a maximum 8 overs per innings. The loss of six wickets is “all out” in this form of indoor cricket. The winning school will advance to the final against Central Peel, who beat John Fraser by 5 wickets in the first semi- final. Central Peel clipped 46/1 from 7.1 overs after John Fraser was all out for 44 runs (7.2 overs).
