Stephen Lewis SS capture ROPSSAA Indoor Junior Boys Crown

Mississauga’s Stephen Lewis Secondary School (SS) beat Glenforest SS by 22 runs in Monday’s (May 13, 2019) Region of Peel Secondary Schools Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) indoor cricket Junior Boys Final. Stephen Lewis scored 46 runs then restricted Glenforest to 24 in a final between the top two teams from the South Division. Glenforest had topped the South Division in the regular season with 7 wins and 1 defeat, ahead of Stephen Lewis, who won 6 games and lost 2.
The Girls Varsity semi-finals also took place on Monday. Heart Lake SS beat Castlebrooke SS 58 runs to 57 and David Suzuki SS defeated Sandalwood Heights 48-47. The Girls Varsity Final is scheduled for Wednesday May 15.
A result has emerged for last Friday’s ROPSSAA Boys High School preliminary round game. Rick Hansen SS won 42-41 at Clarkson SS so Rick Hansen advance to a Quarter-final match against Stephen Lewis SS that was  played on Tuesday (May 14).
In Tuesday’s games in the ROPSSAA Senior Boys competition; Rick Hansen 36 runs lost to Stephen Lewis 37 runs in the last Quarter-final; In the first semi-final John Fraser 44 lost to Central Peel 46 runs. Second semi-final follows on Thursday (May 16) between Stephen Lewis and Castlebrooke.
Update: David Suzuki Secondary School (SS) won the ROPSSAA Girls Varsity indoor cricket final on Wednesday afternoon. David Suzuki scored 54 runs for the loss of 2 wickets from 6 overs then bowled out Heart Lake for 35 runs from 5.5 overs (note: the loss of 6 wickets is all out in this version of indoor cricket).
