Trinity Women’s Cricket win Scarborough CA Championship

Trinity Women’s Cricket won the Scarborough Cricket Association’s Women’s Cricket Championship with wins against Superstars Ladies CC in the semi-final (18 August 2019) and Tranzac Cultural & Sports Club in the final (25 August 2019). Tranzac (Won 7, Lost 1, No Result 1) topped the regular season standings, so automatically gained a place in the final.
Trinity Women’s Cricket won 7, lost 3 to place second in the league. Superstars Ladies won 4, lost 4 and had two no results to place third, while OCA Women ended up fourth in a league of four teams with a record of 9 losses and 1 no result.
Superstars captain Amanjit Virk, batting at number four, led the way with 37 runs in the semi- final until bowled by Lorraine Kenton to leave Superstars on 109 for 8 wickets with 5 balls of the 20 overs remaining. Kenton with 5 wickets for 12 from 5 overs. Extras accounted for several runs in Superstars total of 110 for 9 wickets.
Lorraine Kenton, opening the Trinity batting, scored 13 of 18 runs before being bowled by Chuntell Martin. Terisha (Bess) Lavia and Habeeba Babar took control of the game after Trinity with an unbroken third wicket stand of 78 after a second wicket fell with 23 runs on the board. Bess Lavia made 45* from 50 balls, including 4 boundaries. Habeeba Babar scored 27* from 40 balls.
