Over 50 World Cup

From Facebook:-

Canada has named its squad for the 2020 Over-50s Cricket World Cup.
Ten players have been retained from the side that finished 5th at the 2018 World Cup in Sydney. These include their new captain, Rohan Jayasekera – a former Sri Lankan Test cricketer who turns 62 next week – and his brother Shantha, who averaged 48.33 at the Sydney tournament. Also back is Rudy Gibson, who took 10 wickets at 16 in Sydney, with a best of 4/32.
However, they will be missing their star bowler from Sydney, Mahmood Ahmed, who took 12 wickets at 14.92, and keeper-batsman Roy Singh, who has thrown in his lot with the West Indies instead.
Nevertheless, Canada should again punch above their weight. They pulled off some surprises in 2018, running New Zealand very close and then tipping over Wales and South Africa to eventually win the “Plate” final (5th place).

The Canadian squad is as follows:

Rohan Jayasekera (captain)
David Mohamed (vice-captain)
Brian Rajadurai
Graham Castanheiro
Shantha Jayasekera
Syed Imran Kazmi
Vishan De Mel
Rafiullah Syed
Mukesh Narula
Michael Correia
Vince Correia
Naveed Serai
Puvi Ravishankar
Rudy Gibson
Abhilash Patel
Glen Cardoza

(Note that 3 or 4 players are currently under injury clouds and have been given until December 15 to prove their fitness.)

The manager will be prominent Canadian cricket personality Hector Duncan.
