North Toronto Cricket Association Press Release

The North Toronto Cricket Association (NTCA) is closing in on achieving its team participation objectives, for T20 and forty over competition during the 2011 cricket season.

This is a new League, that will operate in the GTA, will play most of its games at Maple Leaf Cricket Club (MLCC) in the township of King, based on  its agreement with MLCC.

Currently, there is opposition from the Toronto and District Cricket Association for the use of the facility by NTCA, and have taken the MLCC to court to decide the matter.

 

The NTCA have received confirmation from twenty clubs wishing to participate in the T20 competition, and fifteen clubs to play in the forty over competition. The administration of NTCA is extremely pleased with this response, and is expecting these numbers to increase before the start of the season. The NTCA plans to expand it competition to include Junior and Women cricket in the coming years.

1)      Play cricket on the best facilities in the GTA

2)      Reasonable entry and participation costs

3)      Game ball will be provided by NTCA for all competition and the playoffs

4)      Color uniforms will be provided for all T20 teams

5)      Opportunity to get back your entry fees, or parts of it,  as there will be financial rewards for teams finishing one, two or three in the playoffs
