Finding common ground on cricket pitch (Toronto Police Services)

The first day of May marked exactly five months since teenager Asaq Ansari migrated from Pakistan. The anniversary will forever be etched in his mind.
Ansari led Emery Collegiate Institute to a series win over a team of university students in a three-match, 20-over cricket series that concluded on May 1, at the Remberto Navia sports field.
“I have been playing the sport for about five years but this is the first competition I have been in since I came to Canada,” said the 17-year-old.
“I am so happy for the team and the character we showed in the matches. It feels good to be winners.”
Emery won the last two games after the university side – comprising students attending York University, the University of Toronto and McMaster University – took the early lead.
In the decisive match, both teams finished with 37 runs, resulting in a Super Over. Each team gets the opportunity to bat one over – a minimum of six balls – when the scores are tied in Twenty/20 matches to decide the contest.
