Balachandra Gowthaman (Georges Vanier) beats the Victoria Park batsman for pace
In the TDSB North Region senior boys semi-finals at Ross Lord Park on Monday (June 4th) there were wins for Georges Vanier Secondary School and Victoria Park Collegiate Institute.
Georges Vanier scored 83 for five wickets in 20 overs against Emery CI. Saif-ur-Rehman made 28 runs. Emery was then bowled out for 53, so Vanier won by 30 runs on the west pitch.
Victoria Park scored 76 for nine wickets in 20 overs against CW Jefferys and then bowled out Jefferys for 50 in 18 overs. So Victoria Park won by 26 runs.
A runout after completing one run from the last ball of the 20 overs gave Georges Vanier a 2 run win in the TDSB North Region Final at Ross Lord Park. Victoria Park was all out for 71 as a result.
The dates of the Toronto District School Board Senior Boys City playoffs have changed, presumably to allow a gap between Regional playoffs, such as the North Region which were re-scheduled and played this Monday (June 4th).
The City quarterfinals have been pushed back one day to Wednesday (June 6th) and will be played at Eglinton Flats. The City semi-finals and final have been re-scheduled from this Wednesday to next Monday (June 11th).
The known qualifiers, following Monday’s North Region playoffs at Ross Lord Park, are :
East Region – Woburn Collegiate Institute (CI) and Agincourt CI
North Region – Georges Vanier Secondary School and Victoria Park CI.
West Region – West Humber CI and North Albion CI.
Toronto Senior Boys City Quarter Final Schedule
The Toronto District School Board Senior Boys City Quarter-finals scheduled for Eglinton Flats (north-east corner of Jane Street and Eglinton Avenue West ) this Wednesday (June 6th) involve the following matches :
9am Victoria Park CI v North Albion CI
9am Western Technical-Commerical School v Woburn CI
noon West Humber CI v Georges Vanier Secondary School
noon Agincourt CI v Marc Garneau CI.
The winning schools progress to the City semi-finals which are due to be played at Eglinton Flats on Monday June 11th, starting at 9am. The City final will then follow at noon.
