The MCC’s (Marylebone Cricket Club’s) tour of Canada begins with a T20 match on Friday (July 13th) at 2pm at Brockton Point against the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League Stars – the BCMCL Stars, for short. Fans are invited to this game, as well as to Saturday’s 50-overs a side match when a Cricket BC team plays the MCC in the Clifford Cox memorial game at Brockton Point.
Clifford Cox, a long time servant of Canadian cricket both on and off the field died earlier this year. He played international cricket, after coming to Canada from Lancashire, England. He served as a Vice-President of the BCMCL and for the Canadian Cricket Association/Cricket Canada for many years.
On Sunday, the MCC moves onto Vancouver Island to face a BC representative team at Beacon Hill Park, Victoria. This match will also be a 50-overs per side match.

On Friday morning a Junior Coaching clinic is to be staged by the MCC tourists for local junior cricketers. The BCMCL is inviting all interested juniors to come to the Brockton ground where the coaching session is scheduled from 10am until 12 noon.
The BCMCL junior program was driven for many years by Mr .Jack Kyle, who died recently. He moved on to help steer a national development program for juniors across Canada and served as President of the Canadian Cricket Association for several years.
The BCMCL Stars team for the T20 match against the MCC on Friday is: Zeeshan Walia (captain); Virender Gerewal (vice-captain); Sunny Gainder; Jawad Daawood ; Balqais Khan; Gagan Dhillon; Harmanjit Sangha; Hassan Malik; Riaz Afridi; Gauravpreet Singh; Manjeet Singh Sidhu; Satnam Randahawa (12th man); Suliman Khan (junior).
