Cavaliers Cricket Club celebrating 40 years in Windsor

Cavaliers Cricket Club in Windsor, Ontario is celebrating 40 years of cricketing existence in 2012. The club staged an anniversary T20 tournament on the weekend of July 14th-15th at Jackson Park, which was won by Windsor Dominion CC with the Cavaliers as runner-up. Aftab Malik of Windsor Dominion won the man-of-the-match award in the T20 final. Asim Iqbal of the Cavaliers won the tournament most valuable player award and also took the bowling award for most wickets in the tournament. Rizwan Baig of Cavaliers CC won the batsman of the tournament award. It is hoped that this event will continue next year with hopes of it being a bigger event. Cavaliers CC has been a long-time member of the Southern Ontario Cricket Association, which used to include some teams from the USA side of the border.
