Ontario and Alberta in Canada Cup Under-18 Final

The Ontario and Alberta Under-18 teams will meet today (Thursday, August 30th) in the Canada Cup Under-18 Championship Final at Hugo Ray Park, West Vancouver. The match is due to start at 11am, according to the tournament schedule. British Columbia and the Combined Provinces will playoff for third and fourth places, also at Hugo Ray Park.
The British Columbia Mainland Cricket League (BCMCL) is extending a welcome to cricket followers and their friends to “please come and enjoy watching the Canada Cup U18 finals” today. Ground location information about Hugo Ray Park, for those in need, can be found on the BCMCL website (www.bcmcl.org). Spectators are also being invited to the BCMCL’s Intercontinental Six-A-Side Tournament at the Brockton Cricket grounds in Stanley Park this coming Labour Day Monday holiday of September 3rd.

Ontario topped the round robin standings with three wins from three matches. Ontario began with a 146 run win against the Combined Provinces on Monday (August 27th), then beat Alberta by 148 runs on Tuesday, and closed with a 65 run win, under the Duckworth/Lewis method, against host British Columbia on Wednesday.
Alberta began with a win against British Columbia on Monday, lost to Ontario on Tuesday (as above, by 148 runs) but ended with a win against the Combined Provinces by 84 runs, under Duckworth/Lewis, on Wednesday.
The Combined Provinces scored 151 all out on Tuesday and then bowled British Columbia out for 92. So the host team will be keen to battle back and win today’s playoff for third place against the Combined Provinces.

Alberta 222 for 5 wkts (44 ov, Sudeepta Aurka 105) beat Combined Provinces 109 all out (tbc ov) by 84 runs (Duckworth/Lewis method)
Ontario 259 for 6 wks (tbc ov, Aniket Joshi 114 not out, Kumar Singh Dibidayel 43) beat British Columbia 107 all out (tbc ov) by 65 runs (Duckworth/Lewis method).
