Canadian women lose to USA in second one-day game

Canada lost a second match to the USA in the ICC World Cup qualifier. Canada, are now 2-down in the 3 game series, and out of the World Cup.
Canada batted first and made just 135 losing their last wicket in the 49th over. Mikaela Turik made 32 (caught at long-on) and Helene Gaffney 27 not out.

Drives to long-on for a boundary and one straight that brought 2 runs from former West Indies international Indomatte Goordial-Jones sealed victory and a spot in the next women’s world cup for the USA. She closed on 36 not out, with partner Monique Matthe leading the way with 69 not out. Mathee reached her 50 with a drive for two through mid-wicket (29.5 overs). She took a single off the next ball, and just brought up the hundred with a drive for four at the start of the 32nd over. Matthe was caught at the wicket late in the innings, but it was off a high-full toss, which was thus called as a no-ball. USA closed on 136 for 1 wicket, to win by 9 wickets. A sparse crowd was on hand.
