The last round of regular season play included a win for Glenforest against Our Lady of Mount Carmel that left Mount Carmel (W 5, L 3) level on points with St Francis Xavier (W 5, L 3) in the battle for second place in the South Division. Stephen Lewis claimed top spot in the division thanks to seven wins and one loss. Confirmation is needed on which school officially places second and progresses to the May 8 semi-finals. The standings appear based on alphabetical order; net run rate are not included. On Thursday, Our Lady of Lady of Mount Carmel was all out for 62 (7.5 ov). Glenforest claimed victory with 63 for three in 7.3 overs.
Louise Arbour and North Park qualified in the North Division. Each with seven wins and one defeat. Last-placed St Marguerite d’Youville hit a season’s best 48 for two against Louise Arbour, but there was no surprise win as Louise Arbour clipped 49 for three in 5.5 overs. The St. Marguerite total was more than the school’s combined scores from three hefty defeats that had totals of 10, 17 and 18. An aggregate of 47 runs. So the season ended with a sign of improvement.
Most of the schools in this year’s Peel indoor cricket championship have registered for either the Brampton or Mississauga qualifying competitions in the CIMA Mayors Schools Cricket Championship. There are a few more schools registered for the CIMA event, some that have usually featured in the Peel Region indoor championships. The CIMA event for the CIBC Trophy includes Girls High School, Boys High School and Boys Middle School tiers of competition.
