Ontario U-15 Trials at Ross Lord Park tonight – Regional Championship to follow

Trials are being held at Toronto’s G. Ross Lord Park tonight (May 14) and on Wednesday evening (May 15) for Ontario Under-15 players who have pre-registered to attempt to make the cut for an Ontario Under-15 Regional Championship. These trials are taking place between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
An Ontario under-15 Regional Championship will then be staged, involving the top 48 players identified from the trials. This Regional Championship is being sponsored by the Corporate Cricket League and games are to take place between May 17 and June 7, 2013.
Thirty players will subsequently be selected for an Ontario High Performance camp and an Ontario Under-15 team will be selected to tour California from June 20 until June 24, 2013.
Shah Zafar, Second Vice-President of the Cricket Council of Ontario has responsibility in organizing this junior development activity. The Cricket Council of Ontario announced a junior coaching team in December 2012 comprising Farouk Kirmani, Kantharatnam Shanthikumar, Sanjeewa Perera, Dr. Sameer Bhagiranthi and Phil Navaratne.
More information about these trials and the Under-15 Regional Championship can be found on the Cricket Council of Ontario website. Registration for the trials had been required by May 12.
