2013 Snow Cricket Festival in New Brunswick
Mention of adverse weather in eastern Canada provides an opportunity to draw attention to the coverage of Cricket New Brunswick’s 2013 Snow Cricket Festival on the Cricket NB website (http://www.cricketnb.org/). It was the second annual Snow Cricket Festival and was deemed a “massive success”. Thanks to efforts from CricketNB sponsors Picaroons, and other donations for a silent auction, the event raised $1,200 beyond the playing action. The money raised will assist the CricketNB development programs, and a portion was assigned to the Fredericton Regional Resource Network (FRRN), a partnership of some thirty-nine local agencies.
Ten teams took part in this March 2013 Snow Cricket Festival, including one women’s team and three teams from the Loyalist Rugby Club. Some of the smiling faces of participants in the event can be seen on the Cricket New Brunswick website.
