A less than stellar day – which some might think was closer to some days in late September, early October or parts of the average March or April – resulted in the scheduled 2013 Toronto City outdoor cricket playoffs for boys (U19) being postponed from today (Thursday June 6, 2013) to next Tuesday (June 11, 2013).
Astute observers of the schedule on the Toronto District School Board website might note that Lester B Pearson CI are indicated as having won Toronto East this year and North Albion CI won Toronto West. The Toronto powerhouse of recent years, Woburn CI had to settle for runner-up position in Toronto East. George Harvey was the runner-up in Toronto West. But all four teams are in the running for the Toronto City championship next Tuesday at Sunnybrook Park.
North Albion CI won the Toronto phase of the CIMA Mayor’s School Cricket Championship, beating Woburn CI in the Toronto final before losing to Brampton’s North Park Vikings in the Greater Toronto Area CIMA semi-finals. The Vikings went on to win the GTA Boys High School CIBC Trophy in the CIMA tournament.
