Cavaliers Cricket Club of Windsor, Ontario, won the fourth Elsie Boyce Memorial Tournament, beating host club Malvern in the tournament Final on Sunday May 26, 2013. The tournament honours the memory of one of the club’s founding members, Elsie Boyce, and has been described as the largest and most successful tournament so far. Eight teams participated. There were three clubs from the USA and five from within Ontario.
The US teams came from Brooklyn (New York City – the Sommerset Cricket Club), Toldeo (Ohio) and Boston (Massachusetts). The Canadian content, in addition to Windsor Cavaliers and Malvern Cricket and Social Club were from Cambridge, Pickering and Markham.
In the Group A semi-final former Canadian all-rounder struck 77 not out to help carry Malvern into the Final. Neil Contractor scored 56 not out for Windsor Cavaliers in the Group B semi-final. Pedro Depeiza hit 42 not out for Windsor in the Final. Risbrook is credited with taking four wickets for the Cavaliers in this final on the Malvern club’s website.
Malvern had visited Brooklyn the previous weekend for games against Sommerset.
The tournament took place at the Ellesemere Reservoir grounds in Scarborough, Ontario
