Bilal Khan hits first century by Mayor’s XI tourist in England
The RBC CIMA Mayor’s touring team won the first two games of the 2013 Cricket Across the Pond cricket tour to England on Sunday (July 21) and followed up with a win against a Sunbury Cricket Club side by 19 runs on Monday (July 22).
On Sunday, the Mayor’s XI beat a Guildford Cricket Club XI by 46 runs then won by 91 runs against a Mitcham Cricket Club XI. Three early wickets fell on Monday to Sunbury’s Hassun but a fine innings of 92 not out by Siddhanth Shekhar (Bur Oak Secondary School, Markham) steered the RBC CIMA Mayor’s XI to 183 for seven wickets from the available thirty overs. Rizwan Khan scored 21, Darshil Patel 13 and Aniket Joshi 13. Four of the Sunbury batsmen made scores in the 20’s, two of whom were stumped off the bowling of Rizwan Khan for 26. Rizwan Khan (Middlefield Collegiate Institute) ended with four wickets for 29 runs from four overs as Sunbury was bowled out for 164 at the end of the thirty overs. Mahajan, Tunnacliffe and Burgess each scored 26 for Sunbury.
