Canada’s women final game abandoned

The sun was shining on the coast on Tuesday, according to one of the commentators during video streaming of the Final (July 31) of the ICC World Women’s T20 Qualifier between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Dublin. But grey clouds and rain intervened in that Final during Pakistan’s innings. Play was able to resume, but after Pakistan’s innings closed on 112 for five wickets, there was more rain and the final will resume on Thursday at 10am local time.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s women captured fifth place thanks to a Duckworth/Lewis win against Zimbabwe in the Shield Final. Canada’s women were scheduled play Japan’s women in the challenge for 7th place on Wednesday – a game where Canada would hope to repeat a round-robin win but heavy rain resulted in a postponement until Thursday and then abandonment on Friday.
