Ontario, Alberta battle for national crown

Ontario and Alberta, both with three wins and no defeats played each other to determine the top province in Canadian cricket. Alberta won the toss and put Ontario in to bat, and with some tight bowling and good fielding put the Ontario bats under pressure. The first wicket fell on 41 when Ramchuchit was caught behind off the bowling of Yasoob Ul Haq for 21. Osbourne had Junaid Siddiqui caught by Broadhurst for 10 , then dismissed Rustum Bhatti for 32. The first boundary of the innings did not come until the 33rd over, and then Darian struck with two more wickets to leave Ontario at 115/5 from 38 overs. The run-rate increased towards the end of the innings, and Ontario eventually set a target of 174 for Alberta. This proved to be too much for the Alberta batting line-up as they collapsed to 44/7, and Ontario cruised to an easy win. Ontario thus are the winners of the Ed Bracht Trophy for 2010.
