ICC Americas tie with Windward Islands U19s

ICC Americas tied with the Windward Islands U19’s on Wednesday (August 14) in the West Indies Cricket Board Regional U19 50 over tournament.

Farhan Malik (Canada) took four wickets for 31 runs as Windward Islands scored 209 for nine wickets in 50 overs. Leading run scorers for the Windwards were Gidron Pope 58, Gian Benjamin 44 and Taryck Gabriel 26.

ICC Americas made a bad start, midway through the third over the side had lost three wickets for five runs. The Americas side recovered to reach 209 all out after 49.5 overs, the innings ending on a run out off a wide. Few details of batting highlights are currently available for the Americas innings, although Bermuda’s Tre Manders was 50 not out after 36 overs.

In previous matches in this tournament, the Windward Islands had beaten the Leeward Islands by 163 runs and Guyana by 23 runs but lost in the opening round of games to Jamaica by 31 runs.
