ICC Americas Under 19 beat the Leeward Islands U19 by three wickets in a match reduced to 27 overs game on Sunday in St Kitts. Rain had caused the start of all three matches in the second reound of the WICB Regional U19 Championship to be delayed. ICC Americas held the Leeward Islanders to 113 for seven wickets from the 27 overs. Two Canadian bowlers gained mention in the summary scores on the St Kitts Cricket Association facebook news. Stephan Rajasingham took three for 18 and Abraash Khan three for 24, each bowled six overs. Steve Taylor (USA) scored 34 as ICC Americas reached a winning 114 for seven in the 22nd over.
In Sunday’s other matches, Jamaica made 161 for eight wickets (26 overs) then bowled out Trinidad & Tobago for 156 (26 overs) for a five run Jamaican win, while the Windward Islands beat Guyana by 23 runs. The Windwards reached 121 for eight from 27 overs then bowled out Guyana for 98 (24.5 overs).
ICC Americas are not scheduled to play in the third round of games on Monday, but return to action against the Windward Islands on Tuesday (August 13). . ICC Americas had lost Saturday’s opening round game against Guyana.
