It was a beautifully sunny day as the cricketers walked across the pitch to the stumps. Birds were indeed singing and there was the usual expectant chatter of a game about to start. In fact, the main difference was that the cricketers were not standing on well manicured grass but 15 to 20 centimetres of wet snow. This was the sight as the inaugural Nova Scotia Snow Cricket Championships got under way in Annapolis Royal on Saturday, Feb. 22.
