Erin Centre Middle School had a good day with the bat on Wednesday (May 14) that produced wins against Bristol Road M.S. and Tomken Road M.S. plus the first City of Mississauga Middle Schools CIBC Trophy. Erin Centre scored 95/5 from 8 overs in beating Tomken Road by 28 runs, then followed with 112/2 (8 overs) against Bristol Road. Ahmed Hassan pounded 80 not out off the Bristol Road bowling, including four boundaries and ten sixes. Bristol Road replied with 51/7 (8 ov), leaving Erin Centre with a win by 61 runs. Harsh Sheth took 2/2 and Kamil Haris picked up 2/12 during Bristol Road’s innings.
The top four batsmen for Erin Centre each scored between 10 and 17 in the total of 95/5 against Tomken Road. Arham Anji then took three wickets for 16 during Tomken Road’s innings of 67/8. Erin Centre won the game by 28 runs.
Bristol Road scored 70/4 (8 ov) against Tomken Road, Param Besai top-scored with 27. Tomken Road reached a winning 72/3 off the last ball of their allotted 8 overs. Tomken Road’s win placed them second in the three team group, ahead of Bristol Road but behind Erin Centre who qualified for the Greater Toronto Area championship playoffs in Brampton on May 31.
